Valve “cans” were included in the design and supply of this system for an economical control valve option. The control panel was a UL listed device in an outdoor enclosure, including a pressure transducer control device for redundancy.

A new 144,000 square feet, two building industrial center needed a large stormwater pump station to handle the runoff from the site. This triplex system includes a fourth, “jockey” pump to handle low flow dry-season runoff. The three large pumps are 20 hp Ebara submersible pumps designed for redundant pumping during high flow events. A pressure transducer serves as the primary level-sensing device and operates inside of a perforated stilling well designed to prevent solids from interfering with the sensor. The electrical controls are configured with a logic relay, intrinsically safe circuits, and communications.

After the historic Bay Meadows racetrack closed down, a large residential development began that required this large wastewater lift station. A triplex configuration of 30 hp Flygt pumps handles the high flow rates of this system. A blower system was provided as part of the lift station odor control specified by the city. The lift station electrical controls comprised a PLC, float control level-sensors, and a backup generator. The panel includes an Arc Armor® enclosure that provides safe access to low-voltage controls and separate access for high-voltage circuits.

Goulds submersible grinder pumps in a duplex configuration are designed to macerate and pump wastewater that contains solids or fabric materials without becoming clogged. The complete valve assembly is vertically oriented and contained within the wet well discharge piping. An outdoor UL listed control panel contains an intrinsically safe barrier for in-well electrical, floats for level-sensing controls, and a NEMA 4X stainless steel enclosure.

This packaged lift station was designed to meet the medium flows of sewage from an upscale apartment development. The concrete wet well was precast with Ameron T-Lock lining to protect the concrete from hydrogen-sulfide off-gassing. Ebara submersible sewage pumps in a duplex configuration provide redundant pumping capabilities suitable for the medium head conditions. This lift station also includes a bioxide odor control system in the design. A UL listed control panel provides the complete electrical controls with an autodialer for communications.

When a public high school decommissioned an existing septic system, a replacement package lift station was needed to handle the sewage from the campus. Tsurumi submersible cutter pumps were used to pass most solids and cut larger solids into passable sizes (about 1¼” diameter). The outdoor control panel was mounted on the existing support structure for the decommissioned septic.

This deep wet well was constructed from precast concrete and includes Tnemec interior coating. Vaughan Chopper Pumps in a duplex configuration were selected to macerate solids and alternate pumping cycles. A PLC with a touchscreen interface provides an easy and flexible control panel. The primary level-sensing device is a pressure transducer with floats backup level-sensing. This control panel also uses soft starters to reduce current inrush to the 30 hp pumps.

Romtec Utilities designed and supplied this wastewater lift station retrofit to meet the medium sewage flows at the Steven’s Pass Ski Resort. A major part of the retrofit supply package were two Vaughan submersible chopper pumps for wastewater. The electrical controls were the next significant portion of the retrofit. The PLC controller included a touchscreen HMI with autodialer telemetry and SCADA options to communicate with the resort treatment plant. This communication provides advance notification for the treatment plant as the lift station is nearly inaccessible during winter months.

This medium flow sewage lift station was designed for a new development to meet the Sammamish Plateau Water and Sewer District lift station design standards. These standards specify a PLC controller with touchscreen HMI, SCADA options, a precast concrete valve vault, wet well, meter vault, and duplex submersible pumps. In addition to these design standards, this lift station needed to tie-in to an existing force main owned by the District. Romtec Utilities provided the tie-in force main designs and calculations as well as VFDs (variable frequency drives) to match the changing flow and pressure conditions of the existing force main.

The renovation of the University of Washington’s Husky Stadium required a new lift station to handle medium flows of wastewater. The lift station, valve vault, and the access hatches were designed as traffic rated to accommodate loading/unloading next to the main grandstand. The UL listed control panel starts, stops, and alternates each pump cycle at levels measured by Noltaniva float sensors.

A remote Tesoro Corporation industrial site needed this stormwater pump station to handle water discharged from an oil/water separator which processes on-site runoff. Submersible centrifugal pumps were used in a duplex configuration in this shallow wet well. The 7.5 hp Ebara explosion-proof pumps were sized to meet low flow, medium head conditions for stormwater. Check valves and plug valves were integrated into the discharge piping in the well for a simple and cost-effective design. The precast concrete wet well and the access hatch are both pedestrian rated.

In order to expand the municipal sewer system, this lift station was configured to pump to an existing gravity line flowing to treatment. A 24-foot-deep by 10-foot-diameter wet well collects the sewage flows. The wastewater is pumped at 120 gpm 10,000 lineal feet of 10” force main against 206’ TDH with 23 hp high head submersible solids handling pumps. A sheltered control panel utilizes an intrinsically safe barrier for in-well electrical, such as the pressure transducer and conductive probe for primary and backup level controls.
