Prefabricated Valve Vault in a Romtec Utilities Project
When Romtec Utilities designs a wastewater lift station, a valve vault is typically included in the design. These below-grade structural components can be affordably manufactured out of precast concrete and fiberglass. The entire valve assembly is typically housed in the vault below the ground for a multitude of reasons, including site traffic, aesthetics, safety, security, or weather and frost protection. Valve vaults provide many distinct advantages that benefit lift station owners and operators who utilize
Romtec Utilities designs and supplies complete pump and lift stations with generators for back-up and auxiliary power. There are many types of generators available in the market and choosing which one to use relies on the needs of the pumping system and the preferences of the system owner or operator. Let’s take a look at some available generator types and common design considerations that occur when including a backup generator in a lift station design.
Romtec Utilities engineers a variety of solutions for rehabilitating existing pump and lift stations. These projects typically fit into a repair, a retrofit, or a replacement process. Each type of solution require a slightly different process. When it comes to retrofitting a lift station, Romtec Utilities uses a detailed process to help our customers get a well-designed solution in a defined schedule. To some, this process can seem cumbersome at first, but it offers a
Flow Meter Installed in the Bay Meadows Lift Station
Romtec Utilities offers design expertise for complete pumping systems for all types of water from wastewater to clean water and everything in between. A major benefit of our design and engineering experience is the advantages that our pumping systems offer to contractors and installers during the lift station construction. Each of our pumping systems includes practical and helpful features that expedite the process and reduce errors. These features include complete site-specific system documentation, lift station
Romtec Utilities routinely designs package lift stations for wastewater, stormwater, industrial processes, and clean water. Each of our pumping systems include pumps specific to the needs of the site and the project. But when it comes to pumps that macerate, there can be preferences as to what type of pumps to use. Essentially, there are three basic types of macerating pumps. Those are grinder pumps, cutter pumps, and chopper pumps, but there are other names

  1. Why have in ground vs above ground valve vault? although client proposed above ground, client wants the valve assembly, vent and valve control in ground because they don’t want to see the lift station at all.

Do you sell/service in ground systems? If so, I’d like to speak with someone in your company. I’m a civil engineer designing a project that requires a lift station here in Southern California.
