Prologis Meadows Lot D – Stormwater Pump Station
Stormwater Station Project Description
In the Prologis Meadows Lot D project, Romtec Utilities supplied another stormwater pump station to Prologis for their new facility in Portland, Oregon. Previously, Romtec Utilities supplied a stormwater lift station on the Prologis Park Industrial Center Project, which is also located at the same development in north east Portland.
Prologis is the “world’s leading industrial real estate company”, and was established in 1984 (“History”, 2021). Today, they focus on industrial developments, distribution centers, and more. Their latest development in Portland Oregon is called, “Prologis Meadows” and features multiple distribution centers and effortless access to highways such as Interstate 5 for easy shipping and distribution of products.
Stormwater Station Design
For Prologis Meadows Lot D, Romtec Utilities supplied a lift station with a 10’ inner diameter, precast concrete wet well that is 29’ in depth to collect stormwater runoff from the facility. The triplex system features three, 25 horsepower Ebara Submersible pumps to meet the duty point, and both primary and secondary level sensors to monitor the level inside the well and prevent overflows. The primary level sensor is a pressure transducer, which calculates water level by the pressure due to the water column above the sensor located in the wet well, and the secondary are traditional NOLTA floats, which are hung at predetermined depths in the wet well.
The level sensors send level readings to the primary controller, an Allen-Bradley MicroLogix’s 1400 PLC that has been configured for triplex system operation and is housed in a NEMA 3R Stainless steel enclosure. The Prologis Meadows Lot D lift station has also been outfitted with a Sensaphone Sentinel Pro SCADA connect remote monitoring system that offers a premier solution for control panel telemetry.
Romtec Utilities worked with Prologis as well as DOWL (Site Engineer) and Tapani (Installing Contractor) on this project to ensure a successful system for Prologis, who will own and maintain the lift stations on the site. We are happy to have provided multiple lift stations for Prologis’ projects, and look forward to future projects with Prologis, DOWL, and Tapani.
