Metro East Sanitary District – Municipal Sewer Lift Stations
Project Description
A large neighborhood received these two lift stations that were designed to handle medium sewage flow requirements. The submersible solids-handling pumps in duplex configurations were specified to handle influent from three inlet lines from different sections of the neighborhood. The below-grade valve assemblies hold the system operation valves, bypass pumping ports, and shut-off valves. The outdoor UL listed control panels utilize pressure transducers and redundant float controls for liquid level-sensing; basic alarms were included for communications.

Why They Chose Romtec Utilities
Working with the bidders list, Romtec Utilities proposed pricing for designing, manufacturing and supplying two lift stations for the Metro East Sanitary District in Illinois. The winning bidder, H&M Backhoe Service, used the Romtec Utilities pricing to configure its winning bid. Romtec Utilities then worked with H&M Backhoe Service to finalize the scope of supply and services to clearly define the roles. Romtec Utilities sent design documents and proposals to Juneau Associates and the US Army Corps of Engineers for final design approval. H&M Backhoe Services bought and installed both packaged lift stations. After the lift stations were installed, a Romtec Utilities technician travelled to the job site to provide start-up services and training for the Metro East Sanitary District.
