Seattle Parks and Recreation, South Lake Union Park – Sewer Lift Station
Project Description
A renovation of South Lake Union Park required a package lift station configured to meet the medium sewage flow requirements for a municipal and commercial wastewater system. Submersible solids handling pumps in a duplex configuration are protected from turbulence and cascading influent by a drop bowl. A separate below-grade valve vault holds the valves, gauges, indicators, and actuators. A UL listed control panel utilizes float controls for primary and backup liquid level-sensing and is housed in a nearby control building.

Why They Chose Romtec Utilities
The Seattle Parks and Recreation Department contacted Romtec Utilities in the early planning phases for a renovation of South Lake Union Park. Romtec Utilities provided the Seattle Parks & Rec. Department with designs and specifications that were used to specify the lift station portion of this approximately $30 million dollar renovation project. A-1 Landscaping and Construction was awarded the project as the general contractor, and Romtec Utilities worked with A-1 Landscaping and Construction to create an approved design document. Romtec Utilities worked with the Seattle Parks & Rec. Department and A-1 Landscaping and Construction for nearly 3 years to design, manufacture, supply, start-up, and warranty this wastewater lift station.
