Romtec Utilities designs and supplies all types of pumping systems across the country. Many of our systems are designed as submersible pump stations, where the pumps are submerged in the water being pumped. Some customers and utility districts prefer to utilize systems that are not submersible because they have different design standards or preferences. One recent project utilized a wet-dry pump configuration for its system, and the size of the system required some specialized design and manufacturing. This large wet-dry system utilized a panel vault for the dry pit portion of the pump station.
Panel vaults are a unique offering to provide a precast concrete structure that is larger then what can typically be shipped. Precast concrete structure can be installed much faster and with a higher degree of quality control, which is why they are preferred in most places. This video demonstrates the installation process of the large, dry-pit panel vault on our recent wet-dry pump station. Each precast component is lifted into place and then fixed into its final position. Then, the whole structure gets finished for permanent use.
When this project is complete, it will include a Romtec building with a staircase that leads down to the dry pit for access to the pumps. This project includes a lot of design disciplines and engineering expertise, and Romtec Utilities is able to seamlessly work these components into a fully functional pumping system. Getting a below-grade panel vault designed and installed onsite is a big advantage for big systems that need large in-ground assemblies with easy access. Contact Romtec Utilities today if you need a new pumping system that could make use of a large precast panel vault!

Need a concrete vault – modular is fine – nominally 10′ x 10′ x 10′ with traffic-rated lid. This vault will protect a nominal 8′ diameter x approx. 9′ tall waste water tank as part of a neutralization system.
Can you provide such a vault (project site is in California, north of Santa Barbara – Buellton, CA)?
