Why They Chose Romtec Utilities
Being near the Gulf of Mexico can mean that big storms come hit the area which is why Crystal Creek Developers wanted a stormwater pump station for their community mixed-use development in Alvin, Texas.
Crystal Creek Developers, LLC contacted Romtec Utilities directly for the design and supply of this community stormwater pump station project. Crystall Creek Developers is a Planning, Engineering, & Construction located in Friendswood.
We worked with the Crystal Creek Developers’ site engineer, EDG Texas, to complete this design. Romtec Utilities included several cost-reducing design features for this system to keep the developer within its budget and to improve the lead time of the system.
EDG is a full-service consulting firm providing cost-effective engineering, management, and project service solutions.
Romtec Utilities manufactured, fabricated, and supplied the pump station directly to Crystal Creek Developers for installation at its 23-acre mixed-use development. The site has plans to be a city center with an apartment complex, retail, and office spaces, along with a hotel and convention center.
We provided an onsite construction adviser to assist Crystal Creek Developers during the installation. A start-up technician was sent after construction was completed to commission the system and provide testing and training for the owners.
A new mixed-use community development needed a stormwater pump station to handle medium flows of stormwater from the community.
This design features a flooded inlet line, allowing the precast concrete wet well to be installed at shallower depth. This structure includes two 5 horsepower EBARA pumps in a duplex configuration to meet the pumping rates.
A series of floats are used to measure the in-well levels, and a UL-listed alternating control panel operates to start and stop pumps on level. This system was designed to fully discharge into a detention pond. The panel is housed in a NEMA 4X fiberglass enclosure designed for outdoor and all-weather installations.
Romtec Utilities was pleased to provide this stormwater pump station for this mixed-use development in Alvin, Texas that can pump up to 500 gallons per minute into the detention pond.
At Romtec Utilities we design, manufacture, and supply stormwater pump stations for a variety of developments all over the U.S.
