Nearly all our pumping systems include wet wells and valve vaults that are considered confined spaces. All vault structures are confined spaces, but some pumping applications – like sewer – are also exposed to potentially flammable gases and vapors. These are classified as hazardous spaces and given a Class/Division/Group rating.

Wet Wells are the primary structural component of most pump stations, and Romtec Utilities designs, manufactures, and supplies wet wells for many different pumping applications. Wells and sumps can be fabricated out of many different types of materials, and some of the most common are concrete, fiberglass, and polymer.
