Kitsap County – Wastewater Packaged Pump Station
Project Description
Romtec Utilities designed and supplied a wastewater lift station for a large residential development in Bremerton, Washington. This system was designed with 4 hp Flygt solids-handling pumps engineered in a duplex configuration. These pumps were required to meet the flow requirements of this application for discharging effluent into the force main at a velocity of at least 3 ft/sec. A backflow assembly was included on this pump station to allow pumps to recirculate water back into the wet well for in-well mixing. The lift station electrical controls were designed using a Compactlogix controller. Level sensing was engineered with a pressure transducer and includes mechanical floats for redundancy protection.

Why They Chose Romtec Utilities
Romtec Utilities was hired to provide the design and supply of a wastewater lift station for Settlers Field, a new residential development in Bremerton, Washington, across the sound from Seattle. This property was developed by JWJ Group to add 55 new residences to the area. Romtec Utilities needed to design the system to meet the design standards of Kitsap County, who would eventually take ownership of the system. We worked directly with Team 4 Engineering, the site engineer working for the developer, to design the lift station according to the unique requirements of this project. Installation of the lift station was completed by Harbor Custom Homes, the contractor. Romtec Utilities then provided an on-site technician to commission the system and perform startup testing and training services for the operators of the lift station.
