The City of the Dalles – Replacement Municipal Lift Station
Project Description
The City of the Dalles required this replacement package lift station to meet low flows of wastewater from a small neighborhood. Three precast concrete vault structures were included with this system: the wet well, valve vault, and a below-grade electrical junction box. The control panel for this lift station includes SCADA software to interact with a remote telemetry unit (RTU). These two systems provide communications for the pressure transducer, conductive probe level sensing devices, calculated flow rates, and any voltage variances in from the power supply.

Why They Chose Romtec Utilities
The City of the Dalles chose Romtec Utilities to replace two existing lift stations that were failing. This lift station was the first of two new lift stations that “established” the standard design practices for the City. Working with Romtec Utilities, the City saw the value in standardizing lift station designs for future operation and maintenance needs. The Dalles City Council voted and approved to allow the direct purchase of packaged lift stations from Romtec Utilities due to the benefits provided in price and system standardization. Romtec Utilities also worked with Crestline Construction by providing an onsite advisor to help with the installation of the lift station.
