Montage Healdsburg – Wastewater Pump Station
Wastewater Lift Station Project Description
Located in Healdsburg, California, the Montage Healdsburg, was in need of a new sewer wastewater lift station. This new resort is nestled in Wine Country, and located close to numerous wineries and fine dining that draw in visitors to Healdsburg every year.
Montage Healdsburg features over 100 luxury rooms, a spa, pools, farm to table dining, and more for guests to enjoy. The resort is tucked up to the Del Rio Woods, and emphasizes a peaceful and luxurious stay immersed in nature.
The Romtec Utilities supplied wastewater lift station consists of a precast concrete wet well with a 5‘ inner diameter (ID) and a depth of 20’. This duplex system has two 10 horsepower Ebara Submersible pumps to meet the duty point, and uses an FMX21 Pressure Transducer as the primary level sensing. Pressure transducers measure the pressure of the water in the well to determine the level readings. Secondary level sensing is provided by NOLTA MS1 floats, which are chemical resistant and positioned at pre-determined levels in the wet well.
Wastewater Lift Station Design
Level readings are sent to a Logic Relay controller to start and end pumping cycles. The controller is housed in a NEMA 4 Painted Steel Enclosure to provide protection for the electronics as well as security from vandalism.
In addition to the precast wet well, a precast valve vault was also supplied with a bypass pumping port. Bypass pumping is often performed when needing to take anything “downstream” of the lift station out of the equation. The wastewater is instead diverted through the bypass pumping port allowing for ease of maintenance on the remaining valves and equipment.
Romtec Utilities supplied this wastewater lift station to Ghillotti Construction for installation on site at the resort. While often lift stations will be owned by municipalities or sewer districts, the end owner for this project, Sonoma Luxury Resort LLC, will be privately owning and maintaining this lift station. Throughout this project, Romtec Utilities worked with Carlile Macy (Site Civil Engineer) as well as Glazier Architects to meet the needs of Montage Healdsburg.
