Pacific Rim Apartments – Apartment Complex Lift Station
Project Description
The construction of a new apartment complex in Warrenton, Oregon required a lift station to handle wastewater from approximately 60 new apartment units. Romtec Utilities used Ebara 5hp vortex pumps arranged in a duplex configuration to meet the flow requirements of the new buildings. This lift station required a flood tight top hatch due to high water conditions from the nearby Columbia River and Pacific Ocean. Five mechanical float sensors were installed in a tight cluster to trigger pumps accordingly for high and low activity times. Pump station controls were designed by Romtec Utilities using an alternator controller and mounted inside a secure NEMA enclosure.

Why They Chose Romtec Utilities
The Pacific Rim Apartments is one of many new housing development projects taking place in the Warrenton area. Romtec Utilities was hired by the developer Krueger Tree after providing a lift station for a similar apartment project and our expertise in new development projects and ability to meet the specific requirements of governing authorities. The surrounding bodies of water required that Romtec Utilities include a water tight top hatch on the top slab of the wet well. Elevations and other site specific design criteria were provided by Otak Engineering, the engineer working for Krueger Tree. Once the system was manufactured and shipped to the job site, Big River Construction completed the install of the pump station. Once the system was ready to be commissioned, Romtec Utilities performed start-up training and testing services for operating personnel.
