Position Summary

The Production Department at Romtec Utilities is searching for a Production Technician to join the team in manufacturing large-scale water pumping systems. This job includes a lot of significant mechanical assembly, as well as concrete coring, coating, and finishing. Each job is custom, and all work is technical in nature. It involves 80% local, and 20% travel.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
• Read mechanical plans;
• Install mechanical hardware on pumping systems prior to shipment;
• Prepare pumping system packages for shipment;
• Concrete coring, coating, and finishing;
• On job site, finish work and oversite;
• Interface to Engineering;

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES)

It is critical that the applicant:
• Has the ability to take accurate measurements with a tape measure.
• Is mechanically inclined.
• Has forklift experience.
• Has trailer hauling experience.
• Ability to travel for up to a week at a time.
Other Qualifications:
• Has the ability to lift 50-80lb regularly.
• Must stand in a production environment for up to 10 hours during the day.
• Is self-motivated.
• Has a flexible work schedule.

The noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate.

All potential employee who will be engaged in any physical activity will take an agility and hearing test, provided. These tests are intended to assist the supervisor in evaluating the demands of the position relative to the results of the test. Once a candidate is considered for the position Human Resources will work with the candidate to schedule an appointment for the agility and hearing testing. The test will be performed by a medical facility or an industrial physical testing provider. Romtec will cover the charges of these test that are required.
