City of Brawley, California – Wastewater Treatment Improvements
Project Description
The City of Brawley needed this packaged lift station to handle high flows of wastewater at its municipal treatment plant. 12 HP submersible pumps in a duplex configuration were used to meet the high flow pumping needs and a conductive probe was used for liquid level-sensing. The in-ground valve assembly and meter assembly were each located in separate vault structures for a cost effective design and easy access. An outdoor, UL listed control panel was protected from weather and sunlight by a six-post shelter, which also covers the sump entry hatch and electric disconnect panel.

Why They Chose Romtec Utilities
Romtec Utilities was contacted by the City of Brawley to provide designs for a wastewater lift station that would serve as a water recycling system to improve the City’s ammonia removal capabilities. After the preliminary designs were approved, Cora Constructors, Inc. was awarded the project. Romtec Utilities then worked with Cora Constructors to complete the final designs and pricing. Romtec Utilities also coordinated with Nolte Beyond Engineering to integrate the installation of the package lift station with other aspects of the large project. Nolte Beyond Engineering approved the lift station plans and Cora Constructors complete the installation. Romtec Utilities provided the City of Brawley with start-up and training services for the lift station.
