City of Orange, California Industrial Building Addition Stormwater Lift Station
A developer was adding on to their facility and required an industrial building stormwater lift station. This facility, located in Orange, California, was an addition to their existing industrial facility. The City of Orange required treatment of stormwater through a modular wetlands system. Romtec Utilities designed, manufactured, and supplied the stormwater lift station that pumps the treated water out to the street.
We work with developers on stormwater pump stations for industrial buildings, ensuring they meet site-specific, locational, and local regulatory requirements. In this case, the project required stormwater treatment through a modular wetlands system. Partnering with various contractors, we delivered a stormwater lift station that met the project’s needs and ensured a smooth integration with the existing industrial building. This type of pump system is commonly used in both new construction and additions to existing industrial developments.
Orange, California a City in Orange County
Orange, California is a city in Orange County, just east of Anaheim and north of Santa Ana. The Santa Ana River flows through Orange. The city had a population of 139,911 as of 2020.
A portion of the Old Town District homes were built before 1920, so there is a lot of history in Orange and attractions in Orange include the Bowers Museum, Discovery Cube, Orange County Zoo, and Hilbert Museum of California Art.
The City of Orange is a beautiful city with the Old Town District, numerous parks, and a town plaza, that is about 32 miles southeast of Los Angeles. The Old Town area is full of restaurants, antique and collectibles dealers, specialty shops, and art galleries.
To the Northeast of the town plaza, is an industrial area where we replaced an existing industrial building stormwater lift station, that had reached the end its life.
City of Orange Industrial Building Expansion
This project is for a building addition on an existing industrial building. An industrial building stormwater lift station provides the necessary pumping capability to handle various flows of runoff from storm events. The City of Orange requires the treatment of stormwater through a modular wetlands system. This industrial stormwater lift station design did that as well as meet the City of Orange’s stormwater treatment requirements. The stormwater lift station pumps the treated water out to the street.
Blue Peak Engineering was the civil engineer for this project. We worked with them on the Starbucks 620 Avenida Pico project. Blue Peak Engineering was founded in 2004, as a full-service consulting firm offering expertise in civil engineering and land surveying based in Yorba Linda, California.
Blue Peak put our drawings in the bid documents and the awarded contractor reached out to us for a quote and to purchase the lift station design directly. The system will be privately owned and operated.
Pharoah Construction installed the stormwater lift station on behalf of the private owner. Pharoah Construction has over 30 years in the construction industry based in Costa Mesa, California.
Industrial Building Expansion Brings New Stormwater Lift Station
This building addition for the development, required management of stormwater. This pump system was unique in its design and configuration, including a full traffic rated hatch.
The contractor was already awarded when they reached out and needed a quote quickly. They were ready to purchase immediately as construction was already beginning.
