City of Sacramento – Stormwater Pump Station at Baseball Complex
Project Description
Romtec Utilities designed and supplied a stormwater pump station for a new baseball complex in Sacramento, California. The pump station was designed for the 10-year storm and is capable of pumping 930 gallons of stormwater per minute. Two Ebara 10hp pumps were installed in a duplex configuration to meet the high flow and medium head requirements. Nolta mechanical floats were selected as the primary method of level detection in the system because of their reliability. The electrical controls for the system configured with an alternator relay controller to distribute the workload in this duplex pumping application. These controls were installed a protected NEMA 4 painted steel enclosure.

Why They Chose Romtec Utilities
Romtec Utilities designed and supplied a stormwater pump station for the new Army Depot Park. Educational Realty Trust (EDR) made an agreement with the City of Sacramento and Sacramento State University (SSU) to develop the park to replace an existing baseball complex being developed into student housing. The new fields will be used by the East Sacramento Babe Ruth Little League and the Sacramento Men’s Senior Baseball League. Romtec Utilities worked with Verde Design, the landscape architect working under EDR, to design the pump station according to the needs of the new park. Once the design was approved, Romtec Utilities manufactured and delivered the system with an installation advisor present to answer any questions from the installing contractors at RD Morgan Construction. Ownership and maintenance of the system will be shared between EDR, SSU, and the little league. Once the system was ready to be commissioned, Romtec Utilities travelled to the site and provided start-up, testing, and training services for the operating personnel.
