Roseburg Urban Sanitary Authority – Municipal Sewer Lift Station
Project Description
The Roseburg Urban Sanitary Authority needed a new lift station to handle medium flows of sewage from a residential neighborhood. This precast concrete wet well is a deep well for sewer, going nearly 30 feet below grade. Two 3 hp Flygt pumps were used to meet the specified pumping rate for the system. Liquid level-sensing is accomplished with an intrinsically safe pressure transducer and two sets of probes for redundant controls and a high level alert. A Romtec Utilities deflector panel suppresses inflow current at the inlet line to reduce turbulence and turbidity in the well. Economical valve cans were included in place of vault, and the electrical control panel comprises an Allen Bradley MicroLogix PLC controller with a touchscreen HMI.

Why They Chose Romtec Utilities
Romtec Utilities was contacted by RUSA to design and supply a new municipal sewer lift station. Before this project could begin, Romtec Utilities needed to complete a prequalification process to act as a supplier for this project. After this process was completed, Romtec Utilities worked with I.E. Engineering, the site engineer, to integrate the new lift station design with the on-site electrical and utilities. Cradar Enterprises won the construction bid for this project, and we worked with them to supply the lift station package with complete documentation and specifications. We also provided an onsite construction advisor to assist with the construction. Finally, a Romtec Utilities technician commissioned the lift station and provided testing and training for the RUSA staff.
