Sacramento Municipal Utility District – Deep Well Sewer Lift Station
Project Description
The newly constructed headquarters for the Sacramento Municipal Utility District purchased this package lift station to meet its medium sewage flow requirements. Submersible solids-handling pumps in a duplex configuration were specified in a deep well because this facility represents one of the ten largest public utilities in the country. An outdoor UL listed control panel includes an IS barrier for in-well electrical devices and a basic alarm. Float controls are utilized for primary and backup liquid level-sensing.

Why They Chose Romtec Utilities
This packaged wastewater lift station was the first of two lift stations needed at the Sacramento Municipal Utility District. The site of this newly constructed facility has a large five-story office building and three additional shop buildings. RSC Engineering (Civil E.), Sacramento County, and Sacramento Municipal Utility District worked with Romtec Utilities to design a lift station that would handle the wastewater created at the new facility and pump it to existing gravity lines. Using Romtec Utilities to design both of the lift stations at this new facility allowed the Sacramento Municipal Utility District to maintain its standards for design while meeting the total wastewater infrastructure needs of the facility.
