Pinal County, Arizona Subdivision Wastewater Lift Station
Subdivision Wastewater Lift Station Design
The contractor needed to get the subdivision’s wastewater lift station designed, manufactured, delivered, installed, and operational as quickly as possible. Initially, they were sourcing all materials independently but reached out to us specifically for the control panel, level sensing, generator, and ATS.
Although we typically manage the full design and supply of such systems, we agreed to focus solely on designing and supplying the control panel for this fast-paced project. With the wet well already scheduled for installation within a few months, time was limited for the panel’s design, manufacturing, and prefabrication.
Thanks to our strong vendor relationships and in-house electricians, Romtec Utilities was able to quickly procure the necessary components and prepare the control panel for installation with minimal on-site work—meeting the tight timeline successfully.
San Tan Valley, Arizona Subdivision Lift Station
San Tan Valley is an unincorporated community in northern Pinal County, Arizona, located just 45 miles southeast of Phoenix. Only about an hour from the state capital, this rapidly growing area has become a highly sought-after real estate market.
According to the 2020 U.S. Census, San Tan Valley had a population of 99,894, making it the largest unincorporated municipality in Pinal County.
The community takes its name from the nearby San Tan Mountains, home to the San Tan Mountain Regional Park. This park spans over 10,000 acres of desert landscape and features popular trails such as the Rock Peak Wash Trailhead and Goldmine Trailhead, along with opportunities for wildlife viewing and a visitor center. Residents officially chose the name “San Tan Valley” by vote in 2009 (SanTanValley.com).
Bella Vista Farms is a new residential subdivision developed to support the area’s continued expansion. To meet the infrastructure needs of this growing community, the development required a large wastewater lift station.
Subdivision Wastewater Pump Station Project
Lee’s Pipelines, a utilities contractor specializing in underground installations of sewer, water, storm drain, and irrigation systems, reached out to Romtec Utilities for pricing on a control panel, level sensing, generator, and automatic transfer switch (ATS).
This was a fast-paced project—Lee’s Pipelines had already begun sourcing lift station components before contacting Romtec Utilities and aimed to install the wet well within a few months. They needed a quick turnaround on the equipment to keep the project on schedule.
Fortunately, this is where Romtec Utilities excels. Our extensive engineering and premanufacturing processes, combined with strong vendor relationships across the pumping industry, allow us to meet tight deadlines and reduce the amount of on-site construction typically required for these systems.
Our deep understanding of Arizona subdivision wastewater lift station projects and control systems helped the engineering team develop a simple, functional design that could be delivered quickly.
The control panel features a NEMA 3R painted steel from Primex, 3-point locking latch – main disconnect circuit breaker with lockout provisions, Allen-Bradley CompactLogix plc, E&H Flow Meter, and Siemens Ultrasonic Controller Hydroranger 200 HMI for the main level sensor with NOLTA floats as back-up.
Subdivision Wastewater Project Key Players
The engineering firm for this project was HilgartWilson, LLC, which has since rebranded as Colliers Engineering & Design, a civil engineering company based in Phoenix, Arizona. The end owner of the wastewater lift station is the Bella Vista Farms Community Association.
The subdivision’s developer was El Dorado Holdings, Inc., a Scottsdale-based property development firm. El Dorado Holdings began with a ranch in what is now the city of Maricopa—once owned by Hollywood legend John Wayne. Since its founding in 1987, the company has built an impressive portfolio of properties and assets, playing a key role in Arizona’s development, particularly in the Phoenix metro area.
Romtec Utilities was proud to contribute to the Bella Vista Farms wastewater lift station in San Tan Valley, Arizona. We specialize in designing, manufacturing, and supplying wastewater pumping systems for residential developments, subdivisions, and neighborhoods across the country.
