The City of the Dalles – Lift Station Design Standard Implementation
Project Description
The City of the Dalles required this replacement package lift station to meet medium flows of municipal wastewater. This lift station included submersible centrifugal pumps in a duplex configuration with the ability to handle some suspended solids. The control panel for this lift station includes SCADA software to interact with a remote telemetry unit (RTU). These two systems provide communications from the pressure transducer and conductive probe level sensing devices. They also communicate calculated flow rates and any voltage variances in from the power supply.

Why They Chose Romtec Utilities
The City of the Dalles chose Romtec Utilities to replace an existing lift station that was failing. Romtec Utilities demonstrated to the City the value of standardizing lift station designs for future operation and maintenance needs. The Dalles City Council voted and approved to allow the direct purchase of packaged lift stations from Romtec Utilities due to the benefits in price and system standardization. This lift station was the second of two new lift stations that “established” the standard design practices for the City. Romtec Utilities also worked with Crestline Construction by providing an onsite advisor to help facilitate the installation of the lift station.
