City of Stanwood – Fully Integrated Lift Station and Control Building
Project Description
Romtec Utilities designed and supplied a wastewater lift station for a new residential development in Stanwood, Washington. The lift station design uses 4 hp Flygt pumps in a duplex configuration to handle medium flows of sewage for the neighborhood. A 16’ deep wet well with a 6’ inside diameter was chosen for this system to store larger volumes of sewage to meet the optimal pump starts per hour in this application. Discharged wastewater is metered using a Siemens flow meter installed on the discharge valve manifold, which provides useful information to the City about the performance of the lift station. The control panel for this system is installed inside a NEMA 4X heated enclosure and integrated into the design of a Romtec supplied control building.

Why They Chose Romtec Utilities
The Mineral Point housing development in the City of Stanwood, Washington required a wastewater lift station to convey sewage to treatment for newly constructed houses. Romtec Utilities worked with the project engineer, Omega Engineering, on the design of the lift station using site-data they provided. Romtec Utilities fully integrated the electrical controls for the lift station into the design of the control building provided by our sister company, Romtec. The installation of the lift station and the site-built control building was completed by K-N-R Contracting with a Romtec Utilities field technician present to offer construction advice relating to lift station. Like many other housing developments, this lift station was purchased by the developer, MHR Investment Co., and transferred to the municipality once in operation.
