The IBM Boulder Data Center needed to replace a wastewater lift station with a new system to handle medium flows of wastewater generated at the facility. A precast concrete sump includes a pedestrian rated hatch with a safety grate for reliable fall protection. Two, Ebara 5 hp pumps were included in the design for redundant pumping capabilities, and a prefabricated valve vault structure contains check valves and control valves. A UL listed control panel with phase monitoring was engineered in a NEMA 4X stainless steel enclosure for installation outdoors.

Four identical lift stations were supplied to address sewage and cooling process wastewater from this commercial facility. This was the final of four lift stations supplied to Microsoft’s 70-acre data center. Aircraft rated hatches are included for each lift station to handle heavy forklift traffic. Ebara submersible sewer pumps handle the medium flow and average head condition of the system. An outdoor UL listed control panel utilizes an intrinsically safe barrier for in-well electrical controls and utilizes float controls for liquid level-sensing.

This large commercial facility needed identical lift stations to manage wastewater in the form of sanitary sewer and discharge water from the cooling processes. This was the second of four Romtec Utilities lift stations supplied to Microsoft’s 70-acre data center. Aircraft rated hatches are included for each lift station to handle heavy forklift traffic. Outside the sump, two valve cans provide access to the below-grade check valves. An outdoor UL listed control panel utilizes an intrinsically safe barrier for in-well electrical controls and utilizes float controls for liquid level-sensing.

This package lift station was configured to meet the medium sewage flow requirements of a commercial wastewater system. This was the first of four lift stations supplied to Microsoft’s 70-acre data center. Aircraft rated hatches are included for each lift station to handle heavy forklift traffic. Outside the sump, two valve cans provide access to the below-grade check valves.
