Contech Plant – Pumping to Treatment Pond
Project Description
Contech Engineered Solutions needed this pump station to pump medium flows of clean water from a Contech filtration system to a nearby treatment pond. This system was designed with 5 hp Ebara pumps in a duplex configuration. A precast concrete wet well includes a pedestrian rated hatch and safety grate for reliable fall protection. Valve “cans” were included in the design and supply of this system for an economical control valve option. The control panel was a UL listed device in an outdoor enclosure, including a pressure transducer control device for redundancy.

Sisul Engineering worked frequently with Contech for civil engineering and had previously worked with Romtec Utilities on a stormwater pump station. Sisul Engineering provided all of the design details and site requirements from the existing Contech filtration system. With this information, Romtec Utilities was able to meet the design requirements with a reliable pump station that could handle the filtered water and pump it to a treatment pond for more treatment before discharging.
