County of Del Norte – Municipal Sewer Lift Station
Project Description
To extend the sewer system for Crescent City in Del Norte County, this sewage lift station was added to a new gravity line and force main. Duplex submersible chopper pumps pump the sewage to an existing gravity line and on to treatment. An easy-to-access below grade valve assembly contains the check and plug valves. An outdoor PLC panel is connected to a customer-supplied generator and is also protected by a customer-supplied shelter. Primary liquid level sensing is by a pressure transducer with floats as a backup.

Why They Chose Romtec Utilities
Romtec Utilities partnered with the civil engineering firm, LACO Associates, to design this lift station for the County of Del Norte. The design was preapproved and included into the bid specifications put out by the County of Del Norte. The contracting firm, McLennan Contractors, was selected to meet the specifications. Romtec Utilities worked with McLennan Contractors to stay within the preapproved design specification while also tailoring the scope of work and supply to meet the budget of the winning bid. This process ensured that the County of Del Norte received a complete lift station that was configured to the needs specified by LACO associates while also maintaining the price advantage of the winning bid.
