Why They Chose Romtec Utilities
Two small lift stations, one wastewater and one stormwater, were brought to us by Fuscoe Engineering, Inc. for a new development in Huntington Beach, CA.
They were originally working for the developer, Brookfield Properties, on the overall design for the project. In original conversations, Fuscoe had questions on Romtec Utilities’ scope, specifically if we provide engineering services, and requested sample projects to present to the developer since we have not worked with Brookfield Properties previously.
We had previously worked with Fuscoe on various projects including Doheny Village, House of Ruth, Oak Springs Ranch, the Line, and the Marke. Fuscoe Engineering, Inc. is a civil engineer based in Irvine, California.
Information on both complete scopes was provided, as well as multiple sample projects for both wastewater and stormwater lift stations. The residential development wastewater pump station project was later sold to Lennar.
The residential development wastewater pump station was purchased by the general contractor, L&S Construction. Romtec Utilities had worked directly for Lennar previously, but Lennar’s preference was to procure the pump systems through the contractor. Lennar Homes is a home construction company that was the second largest in the U.S. in 2023, quantified by the number of homes sold.
The new single family home community is called Seamark, which has 85 homes adjacent to Gisler Park in Huntington Beach. Gisler Park has a playground, park benches, open field areas, and walking trails. The neighborhood is close to Edison High School and walking distance from the Santa Ana River Trail.
Since the new development needed a wastewater pump station, Romtec Utilities designed, manufactured, and supplied the residential development wastewater pump station to Lennar through L&S Construction. L&S Construction is a construction company based in Orange, California providing water, sewer, and storm drain installation services to the residential home building industry.
The residential development wastewater pump station features Hayword Gordon 3 horsepower pumps in a duplex configuration, 4” discharge piping, pressure transducer for primary level sensing, two float level switches for backup level sensing, and stainless-steel guide rails.
The duty point is 150 GPM AT 13.8 TDH.
