Huntington Beach, California Housing Development Wastewater Lift Station
This housing development wastewater lift station is for a new neighborhood, known as Seamark, in Huntington Beach, California. Romtec Utilities designed, manufactured, and supplied this wastewater lift station for the developers, Brookfield Properties. Fuscoe Engineering brought us into this project after they connected us with the developers. We provided a wastewater lift station along with a stormwater lift station for the new housing development.
We addressed all of Fuscoe Engineering’s inquiries regarding our engineering services, including how we design lift stations tailored to owner preferences and in compliance with local pumping standards. We also shared a comprehensive overview of our pump station delivery process, along with examples from previous projects.
Following our discussions, Lennar acquired the project and assumed the role of developer. The Seamark site is located adjacent to Gisler Park and Edison High School and is in close proximity to the Santa Ana River Trail.
The wastewater lift station features Hayward Gordon 3-horsepower pumps in a duplex configuration, a pressure transducer for primary level sensing, and two float switches for secondary level sensing.
Housing Project Lift Station Design
A new housing development wastewater lift station was needed for a construction project in Huntington Beach, California.
Huntington Beach is famous for its long stretch of beach which encompasses 8.5 miles providing a variety of places for beachgoers to gather.
The population was 198,711 at the 2020 census as the city is within Orange County about 35 miles southeast of downtown Los Angeles.
The Pacific Coach Highway runs up the coastline providing access to Sunset Beach, Bolsa Chica State Beach, Huntington Dog Beach, City Beach, and Beach Pier.
The many beaches provide many opportunities for surfers to enjoy great surfing along the Pacific Ocean in southern California. It is home to a surfing museum and has the nickname Surf City USA.
Subdivision Wastewater Lift Station
Fuscoe Engineering, Inc. brought us two small lift station projects—one for wastewater and one for stormwater—as part of a new development in Huntington Beach, CA.
At the time, Fuscoe was working with the original developer, Brookfield Properties, on the overall project design. During early discussions, they inquired about Romtec Utilities’ scope of services, particularly whether we provide engineering support. They also requested sample projects to present to Brookfield, as this would be our first collaboration with them.
We had previously partnered with Fuscoe on several projects, including Doheny Village, House of Ruth, Oak Springs Ranch, The Line, and The Marke. Fuscoe Engineering, Inc. is a civil engineering firm based in Irvine, California.
Our sales team provided detailed scopes for both the wastewater and stormwater lift stations, along with multiple relevant project examples. The residential development was later acquired by Lennar.
The lift station was ultimately purchased by the general contractor, L&S Construction. Although Romtec Utilities had worked directly with Lennar in the past, Lennar preferred to procure the pump systems through the contractor for this project. Lennar Homes, one of the largest homebuilders in the U.S., ranked second in total homes sold in 2023.
The tract wastewater lift station is designed to transport wastewater from a low elevation to a higher one, enabling gravity flow to continue the journey to the treatment facility.

Housing Project Lift Station
Seamark is a new single-family home community in Huntington Beach, California, featuring 85 homes adjacent to Gisler Park. The park offers a playground, open fields, park benches, and walking trails. The neighborhood is also near Edison High School and within walking distance of the Santa Ana River Trail.
To support the development, a wastewater pump station was required. Romtec Utilities designed, manufactured, and supplied the system to Lennar through L&S Construction, a contractor based in Orange, California, specializing in water, sewer, and storm drain installations for residential developments.
For housing developments like Seamark, Romtec Utilities typically collaborates with developers, civil engineers, general contractors, and installation teams to deliver high-quality pumping systems tailored to project needs.
The wastewater pump system features Hayword Gordon 3 horsepower pumps in a duplex configuration, 4” discharge piping, pressure transducer for primary level sensing, two float level switches for backup level sensing, and stainless-steel guide rails.
The duty point is 150 GPM AT 13.8 TDH.
Romtec Utilities was proud to partner with Fuscoe Engineering, Lennar, and L&S Construction on this wastewater pump system for this housing development wastewater pump station in Huntington Beach, California.
