McCormick Woods – Golf Course Community Development Lift Station
Project Description
In Port Orchard, Washington, new residential developments have been ongoing around the McCormick Woods Golf Course. The most recent development required a new lift station to handle medium flows of sewage for 200 new homes. The high head pumping requirements and the expected flow rate required the system to be engineered with 20 hp Vaughan chopper pumps engineered for a duplex configuration. The lift station controls were designed and supplied with an Allen Bradley controller and touchscreen HMI. A prefabricated steel shelter was supplied to provide exterior lighting and weather protection for the electrical controls. This lift station also included an onsite 60KW diesel Generator and a lifting crane for submersible components.

Why They Chose Romtec Utilities
GFK Consulting, Inc. contacted Romtec Utilities about this new residential development project for Windward Project Management. Working with the these agencies, Romtec Utilities provided previous work history with the City of Port Orchard at a previous McCormick area development. The City was pleased with its previous lift station, so Romtec Utilities was able to work with the developer, their engineer, and the City to quickly design and supply the complete system. This allowed the Windward Project Management to get fast approval from the City to move forward with the development. Romtec Utilities also made sure that the City got a lift station that met its standards for design and operation.
