Romtec Utilities designed and supplied this wastewater lift station retrofit to meet the medium sewage flows at the Steven’s Pass Ski Resort. A major part of the retrofit supply package were two Vaughan submersible chopper pumps for wastewater. The electrical controls were the next significant portion of the retrofit. The PLC controller included a touchscreen HMI with autodialer telemetry and SCADA options to communicate with the resort treatment plant. This communication provides advance notification for the treatment plant as the lift station is nearly inaccessible during winter months.
Woods Trailer & RV Park|Lebanon, OR|72 GPM - 28' TDH
An RV park needed this package lift station to meet the municipal sewage requirements for the residents at the park. Pumping with low flow and low head conditions, the duplex Goulds submersible pumps are sized to efficiently fit the 14’ deep, 4’ diameter wet well. An outdoor UL listed control panel utilizes floats for liquid level-sensing and includes an autodialer for communications and alarm notifications. The complete system was installed at finish grade with traffic rated hatches to provide a low profile for the residential area.
Pacific Properties | Sammamish, WA | 85 GPM - 75' TDH
This medium flow sewage lift station was designed for a new development to meet the Sammamish Plateau Water and Sewer District lift station design standards. These standards specify a PLC controller with touchscreen HMI, SCADA options, a precast concrete valve vault, wet well, meter vault, and duplex submersible pumps. In addition to these design standards, this lift station needed to tie-in to an existing force main owned by the District. Romtec Utilities provided the tie-in force main designs and calculations as well as VFDs (variable frequency drives) to match the changing flow and pressure conditions of the existing force main.
University of Washington|Seattle, WA|346 GPM - 40' TDH
The renovation of the University of Washington’s Husky Stadium required a new lift station to handle medium flows of wastewater. Robust, 10hp Vaughan Chopper pumps were used in a duplex configuration to macerate solids and to pump under unpredictable conditions. The lift station, valve vault, and the access hatches were designed as traffic rated to accommodate loading/unloading next to the main grandstand. The UL listed control panel starts, stops, and alternates each pump cycle at levels measured by Noltaniva float sensors.
Tesoro Corporation|Port Angeles, WA|400 GPM - 30' TDH
A remote Tesoro Corporation industrial site needed this stormwater pump station to handle water discharged from an oil/water separator which processes on-site runoff. Submersible centrifugal pumps were used in a duplex configuration in this shallow wet well. The 7.5 hp Ebara explosion-proof pumps were sized to meet low flow, medium head conditions for stormwater. Check valves and plug valves were integrated into the discharge piping in the well for a simple and cost-effective design. The precast concrete wet well and the access hatch are both pedestrian rated.
