Fresh & Easy Distribution Center – Commercial Wastewater Lift Station
Project Description
The expansion of this distribution center for Fresh and Easy food products required a package lift station designed to meet medium wastewater flow requirements. This lift station for the 88-acre storage and supply facility uses an inlet line drop bowl to protect submersible solids-handling pumps in a duplex configuration from cascading influent and turbidity. A below-grade valve vault holds all the valves assembly for two, parallel force mains. An outdoor UL listed control panel utilizes float controls for liquid level-sensing and includes an autodialer for communications.

Why They Chose Romtec Utilities
Romtec Utilities was contacted by the engineering firm, Kimley-Horn and Associates, to provide preliminary designs for a wastewater lift station needed for a new Fresh and Easy grocery distribution center. Kimley-Horn and Fresh and Easy elected to use the Romtec designs in their bid specifications. Romtec Utilities then provided firm quotes to the project bidders. DTS Engineering submitted the winning bid and chose to accept the Romtec Utilities package as the lift station supply. This process ensured that the engineering firm and the final owner got the product they wanted through a typical bid process. Romtec Utilities worked with each agency from the preliminary design to the lift station start-up and training.
