Green Sanitary District – Low-Cost Municipal Lift Station
Project Description
A large book distribution center required the local municipal agency to install this package wastewater lift station. The force main was installed via a horizontally drilled hole to the exact elevation of the wet well connection. The submersible solids handling pumps are explosion proof to meet the hazardous area classifications for this lift station. A sheltered PLC control panel contains an intrinsically safe barrier to also meet the hazardous area requirements. The panel utilizes a pressure transducer and floats for primary and backup level-sensing controls.

Why They Chose Romtec Utilities
The Green Sanitary District needed to expanded the municipal sanitary sewer lines to accommodate a large book distribution center and chose to install a lift station to accomplish its goals. Romtec Utilities proposed a bid with the contractor, Advanced Excavating Specialists (AES), for the supply and installation of the lift station. Using expert documentation, Romtec Utilities and AES were able to agree on a low cost bid, and the project was awarded to AES with Romtec Utilities supplying the lift station package. Romtec Utilities and AES submitted final design proposals to SHN Engineers, the civil engineering firm, and were approved. AES then installed the packaged lift station with an on-site construction advisor from Romtec Utilities.
