Home Depot in Perris, California – Commercial Stormwater Pumping
Project Description
The construction of a new Home Depot required a large detention pond and a new pump station to handle stormwater from the commercial development. This economical pump station uses 7.5hp Ebara pumps in a duplex configuration to meet the required flow rates to empty the detention pond. Parallel force mains were included with valve cans to provide simple and inexpensive piping and control valves. This submersible system uses cost-effective precast concrete barrels and a monolithic base to construct strong and reliable sump.

Why They Chose Romtec Utilities
Shawnee Construction contacted Romtec Utilities to provide a quote for a lift station specification that listed Romtec Utilities as an approved supplier. Romtec Utilities reviewed the plans and decided to value engineer the project which resulted in drastically improved pricing. Shawnee Construction used the Romtec Utilities plans and pricing to bid the project after asking for assurances that Romtec Utilities would defend its changes to the specification. The project was awarded to Shawnee Construction with the Romtec Utilities plans pending approval. Romtec Utilities communicated with Albert A. Webb Associates, the civil engineer, to explain why the plans were changed. Albert A. Webb Associates understood the value of the new plans and approved the Romtec Utilities designs as being of equivalent function to the original specification.
