New Continuation High School – Packaged Wastewater Lift Station
Project Description
A new school required this low flow package lift station in order to handle the neighborhood’s increased flow of municipal wastewater. Ebara vortex pumps in a duplex configuration are used for deep well pumping. They are explosion proof in order to meet the Class 1, Division 1 hazardous location requirements. A below-grade valve vault provides easy access to system plug valves, shut-off valves, and swing check valves. An outdoor UL listed control panel manages the lift station’s mechanical and electrical systems with float controls for liquid level-sensing and a basic alarm.

Why They Chose Romtec Utilities
McIntosh and Associates (Civil E.) contacted Romtec Utilities to design and supply a packaged wastewater lift station for a new high school. Klassen Corporation, the general contractor, and McIntosh and Associates worked with Romtec Utilities to finalize and approve a lift station design with the City of Bakersfield. Once the Romtec Utilities design and scope of work submittal was approved, Aleco Corporation was selected for its bid for the underground construction and lift station installation. Romtec Utilities provided Aleco Corporation with an on-site construction advisor and provided the city with lift station start-up services and on-site training for maintenance staff.
