Why They Chose Romtec Utilities
For expanding facilities, wastewater lift stations are sometimes designed for “now and future” flows.
American Structurepoint, Inc. requested this type of design for a wastewater lift station at a Praxair liquid hydrogen plant.
Romtec Utilities designed a super-high flow industrial lift system as requested while mitigating concerns, such as solids build-up and pump inefficiency, that are sometimes associated with this type of design.
Romtec Utilities also worked with Hasse Construction Company to finalize the design while meeting their budget. The final triplex lift station supplied and started-up by Romtec Utilities efficiently handled the specified flows of wastewater while providing capabilities for “future” super-high flows.
A liquid hydrogen plant required this large 20’ deep lift station to handle super-high flows of industrial wastewater. To provide redundancy and expanded pumping capabilities, triplex submersible centrifugal pumps were specified in the 8’ diameter sump.
A large custom valve vault holds the complete 8” valve configurations with triplex discharge piping and force main headers.
Two below grade junction boxes hold electrical disconnects to comply with the classified space. An outdoor UL listed control panel uses float controls for primary and backup liquid level-sensing.
This lift system can pump up to 1,800 gallons per minute with a total dynamic head of 33.5′.
