Roseburg Urban Sanitary Authority – Sewer Lift Station in Industrial Zone
Project Description
Romtec Utilities designed and supplied a lift station for a new industrial development in Roseburg, Oregon. The lift station conveys wastewater from the remote site to a natural treatment wastewater facility on the other side of town. Submersible Flygt pumps with 5hp motors were installed in a duplex configuration to meet specified flow rates. This system uses a precast concrete wet well that is over 22’ deep to store large volumes of wastewater between pump cycles. An ultrasonic transducer and a 10 point conductive probe act as the primary and redundant level sensing for this system, respectively. Above the lift station, electrical controls are installed under a two post utility shelter for protection against direct sunlight and other weather conditions.

Why They Chose Romtec Utilities
Romtec Utilities was hired to design and supply a wastewater lift station for an industrial development in Roseburg, Oregon. The property is in an ideal location in close proximity to train tracks and Interstate-5 and is suitable for a variety of industrial applications. Romtec Utilities began designing a lift station using design criteria supplied by i. e. Engineering, a local engineering firm. Additionally, we had extensive knowledge of the design standards of Roseburg Urban Sanitary Authority (RUSA), who would eventually own and maintain the system. Once the design was approved, Romtec Utilities sold the package system directly to Back Nine Development, the developer. The lift station was then installed by Cradar Enterprises, the contractor. A Romtec Utilities construction adviser was available at the job site to answer any questions about the installation of the system. Once construction was completed, the system was tested and commissioned by a Romtec Utilities technician using a backup generator as power was not yet available onsite.
