Mesa, Arizona is a city located just east of Phoenix, in the Valley of the Sun, which is a group of cities making up the Phoenix metropolitan area.

Mesa is in Maricopa County and is the third largest city in Arizona with a population of 502,000 in the most recent census. Tempe is located just to the west of Mesa while Chandler and Gilbert border the city to the south, and Apache Junction to the east.
