City of Camas – High Head Sewer Lift Station
Project Description
In order to expand the municipal sewer system, this lift station was configured to pump to an existing gravity line flowing to treatment. A 24-foot-deep by 10-foot-diameter wet well collects the sewage flows. The wastewater is pumped at 120 gpm 10,000 lineal feet of 10” force main against 206’ TDH with 23 hp high head submersible solids handling pumps. A sheltered control panel utilizes an intrinsically safe barrier for in-well electrical, such as the pressure transducer and conductive probe for primary and backup level controls.

Why They Chose Romtec Utilities
The City of Camas prefers designs by Romtec Utilities as its standard for lift station configurations. Romtec Utilities was contacted to propose preliminary designs for this new lift station that would expand the City’s municipal sewer system. Contractors bid on the proposed designs, and Tapani Inc. was selected as the project contractor. Tapani worked with Romtec Utilities to stay within their budget while still maintaining the City’s standards for lift station design. Tapani submitted the plans to the City of Camas and was able to quickly get approved because Romtec Utilities understood the City’s design preferences. Romtec Utilities provided an on-site installation advisor, start-up services, system training, and warranty for this lift station.
