Correction Corporations of America – Multiple Prison Lift Stations
Project Description
These four package lift stations were designed to meet the high sewage flows of this commercial prison for municipal wastewater standards. Solids-handling pumps in a duplex configuration are aided by an effluent mixer designed to agitate solids inmates put into the system. A dual compartment, below-grade valve assembly holds the complete system valves and flow meters. The PLC panel is tied-in to an onsite generator for emergency backup power. A SCADA system handles liquid level sensing with a pressure transducer and floats for backup.

Why They Chose Romtec Utilities
For a single agency to design and supply four lift stations, detailed and precise documentation is required throughout the entire process. Romtec Utilities worked with the WLB Group (Civil E.) to design the four wastewater lift stations at the correctional facility, but during the design phase additional consultants, suppliers, contractors, and projects managers were also worked with to negotiate the engineering, configuration, supply, and price of all the lift stations. Romtec Utilities worked well in this environment to satisfy all reviewing parties, the owner, and the customer. In the end, each lift station was approved, delivered, and ready for installation with complete documentation to ensure a functional and long term wastewater pumping solution.
