Grain Millers, Inc.- Wastewater & Process Fluid Lift Station in Food Production Facility
Project Description
The construction of a food manufacturing facility in Junction City, Oregon required the installation of a wastewater lift station. The pump station handles wastewater from the building’s on-site restrooms and process water from the food production process. Romtec Utilities engineered this lift station with Ebara 5hp pumps installed in a duplex configuration. Wastewater levels in the system are detected and measured using an array of mechanical floats. Electrical controls in the system were designed by Romtec Utilities using an alternator controller. Controls were mounted inside a robust NEMA 4 painted steel enclosure and configured for specific parameters of this pumping application.

Why They Chose Romtec Utilities
Romtec Utilities was contacted to design and supply a wastewater lift station for the newly constructed Northern Gold Foods manufacturing facility in Junction City, Oregon. The new system handles wastewater from both sewer lines and process water from the food manufacturing process. Romtec Utilities worked and coordinated with several individual contributors on this project to design the pump station according to the unique requirements of the project. Branch Engineering was the site engineer working with Grain Millers, Inc., the owners, overseeing the project. Wildish Construction handled the installation of the pump station with a Romtec Utilities’ adviser available onsite to answer any questions regarding the system. Later, once the construction of the building and site-work was completed, Romtec Utilities scheduled start-up for the system, sending a trained technician to commission the system and provide testing and training for operating personnel at the plant.
