Prologis Meadows Lot A – Stormwater Lift Station
Stormwater Lift Station Project Description
Romtec Utilities supplied multiple stormwater pump stations for the Prologis Meadows project, including the Prologis Meadows Lot A lift station, and the previously covered Lot D lift station. These lift stations are located on the same development for Prologis’ new facility in Portland, Oregon.
Prologis is the “world’s leading industrial real estate company”, and was established in 1984 (“History”, 2021). Today, they focus on industrial developments, distribution centers, and more. Their latest development in Portland, Oregon is called “Prologis Meadows” and features multiple distribution centers and effortless access to highways such as Interstate 5 for easy shipping and distribution of products.
Pump Station Design
Like the Lot D lift station, the Lot A lift station was supplied to collect stormwater runoff from the new Prologis facility and prevent it from ending up in nearby water sources. For this, Romtec Utilities supplied a precast 10’ inner diameter wet well that extends 23’ in depth to collect the stormwater, which will be discharged by three 25 horsepower Ebara submersible pumps at the bottom of the well.
The pumps are controlled by a Micrologixs 1400 PLC controller that has been configured for a triplex application and is housed in a NEMA 3R stainless steel enclosure for protection from the elements and vandalism. The controller is set up to receive level readings from both primary and secondary level sensors, a pressure transducer and NOLTA floats respectively, in order to monitor water level and trigger the pump down cycles.
Romtec Utilities worked with Prologis as well as DOWL (Site Engineer) and K&E Excavating (Installing Contractor) on this project to ensure another successful system for Prologis, who will own and maintain the lift stations on the site. We are happy to have provided multiple lift stations for Prologis’ project to support their newest development, which will help to meet the ever-growing demands of shipping and distribution.
