A new commercial development where a Goodwill retail store was being built needed this robust wastewater lift station. The hatch and below-grade structural components of this lift station have an H-20 rating for occasional traffic so that the system could be located in the parking lot of the development. This also included a below-grade, explosion proof electrical junction box. Goulds vortex pumps in a duplex configuration were chosen to handle unknown solids from future tenants of the development. Electrical controls were provided through a standard UL listed panel.
Ski Resort Retrofit|Stevens Pass, WA|65 GPM - 35' TDH
Romtec Utilities designed and supplied this wastewater lift station retrofit to meet the medium sewage flows at the Steven’s Pass Ski Resort. A major part of the retrofit supply package were two Vaughan submersible chopper pumps for wastewater. The electrical controls were the next significant portion of the retrofit. The PLC controller included a touchscreen HMI with autodialer telemetry and SCADA options to communicate with the resort treatment plant. This communication provides advance notification for the treatment plant as the lift station is nearly inaccessible during winter months.
Valley Fine Food Processing|Benicia, CA|45 GPM - 35' TDH
This food processing plant in Benicia, California needed a wastewater lift station to handle combined sewage and process water from the production of pasta. The lift station design included Tsurumi grinder pumps in a duplex configuration. These submersible grinder pumps were included to handle pasta and cheese that occasionally get into the process water. The system electrical controls comprise a standard UL listed panel with float controls for liquid level sensing. The lift station pumps into an existing sewer main and on to treatment.
Chino Men's Prison|Chino, CA|135 GPM - 30' TDH
This package lift station was designed to meet the medium wastewater flows of this California prison. Solids-handling pumps in a duplex configuration are protected from cascading influent by a drop bowl. The liquid level-sensing is controlled by a pressure transducer and a float in used for emergency backup. A below-grade valve assembly holds the system’s valves, flow meters, and pressure gauges. An outdoor PLC panel with a basic alarm and an added input for a radio modem comprise the systems controls.
Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital|Santa Barbara, CA|1,095 - 21.5' TDH
This simple package lift station was designed to handle the medium flows of stormwater at this hospital facility. Submersible centrifugal pumps in a duplex configuration alternate pump starts or can both operate in high stormwater events. The pumps are protected from inflows by an HDPE deflector panel. There is a below-grade electrical junction box in a concrete vault. System controls were designed with a UL listed control panel, float controls for liquid level-sensing, a basic alarm, and an autodialer for telecommunications.
