City of Bremerton – Modern Residential Development
Project Description
The City of Bremerton needed a new sewer lift station to handle medium flows of wastewater from a new residential development. A precast concrete wet well was designed for a duplex pump configuration with solids-handling pumps for wastewater applications. Romtec Utilities supplied a control building to house the electrical control panel with separate enclosures to meet the City standards. It also contained an automatic transfer switch for the Cummins emergency backup generator. A turbine air pump was installed to pressurize and vent the valve vault structure for occupancy safety requirements.

Why They Chose Romtec Utilities
PacLand, a consulting engineer, brought this project to Romtec Utilities for the design of the lift station. PacLand and Romtec Utilities developed the design for the residential developer, Freestone Companies. Then Romtec Utilities worked with the City of Bremerton to get the lift station design approved for the City standards, including a Romtec supplied control building. Once the City approved the design, Freestone Companies purchased the lift station. The entire pumping system was installed by Talbot Excavating. This project is a great example of a developer, a city, and Romtec Utilities working together to deliver the best lift station for the public in Bremerton.
