Palmdale is about an hour north of Los Angeles in the Antelope Valley which includes rugged mountains and desert terrain. The population of Palmdale and neighboring Lancaster is over 500,000 in their combined urban area.

A renowned aerospace and defense technology company needed an industrial pump station handling stormwater run-off with potential for fuel at their portion of the airport. Romtec Utilities provided a pump station solution with a double wall fiberglass structure.

The industrial stormwater pump station project was led by the owner. Romtec Utilities designed, manufactured, and supplied the complete industrial pump station for this project.

The stormwater pump station features:

• fiberglass 6′ ID x 18′ deep wet well
• duplex Ebara submersible pumps
• 4″ above grade valve assembly
• Micrologixs 1400 PLC primary controller
• FMR20 Radar for level sensing
• NOLTA MS1 Floats for secondary level sensing
• NEMA 3R painted steel enclosure for the control panel.

Romtec Utilities can design the stormwater pump station to have alarms and various controls that immediately notify the owner or maintenance team of any leaks so they can act accordingly.

The stormwater pump station can pump up to 389 gallons per minute with a 54.5 total dynamic head.

California Compaction Corporation was the sub-contractor who installed the industrial pump station. They provide site preparation and development of facilities or systems like sewer, water, storm drain, and dry utilities.
