Palmdale, California has a rich history of aeronautics as it’s home to the United States Air Force Plant 42 and Joe Davies Heritage Airpark at the Palmdale Regional Airport.

At the Joe Davies Heritage Airpark, guests can enjoy a collection of aircraft that was flown, tested, or produced at the US Air Force Plant 42. There are 21 retired military aircraft on static display at the airpark which includes the iconic “Blackbird”.

Palmdale is about an hour north of Los Angeles in the Antelope Valley which includes rugged mountains and desert terrain. The population of Palmdale and neighboring Lancaster is over 500,000 in their combined urban area.

A renown aerospace and defense technology company needed an industrial pump station handling stormwater run-off with potential for fuel at their portion of the airport. This is a design-build pump station where Romtec Utilities provided the double wall fiberglass structure with leak detection.

This project is also located at the facility where the stealth bombers either refuel or are stored.

Jacobs Engineering was the site engineer for this project. Jacobs is based out of California providing engineering services.

California Compaction Corporation was the sub-contractor who installed the industrial pump station. They provide site preparation and development of facilities or systems like sewer, water, storm drain, and dry utilities.
