This wastewater lift station was required to hand medium sewage flows from a development neighborhood by Smith River Rancheria, the governing body of the Tolowa Dee-ni’ Tribe. Two Goulds Water Technology 2 hp grinder pumps were used to meet the high head requirements for over 3,000 ft of force main. A owner-supplied control building contains the control panel and an permanent onsite Cummins generator for backup power. A Mercoid pressure transducer provides primary level-sensing controls with Dwyer floats for backup.

An upscale beachside community in California needed this medium flow wastewater lift station to replace septic systems used at each home. To meet the requirements of the beachside location, this system includes Ameron T-Lock PVC lining on both a precast concrete sump and emergency overflow basin. A below-grade vault contains the system’s valve and meter assemblies. Large bluffs between the beach and the city treatment plant required super-high head submersible pumps. The system electrical controls comprise redundant controls and level sensing with SCADA integration.

Romtec Utilities designed and supplied this wastewater lift station retrofit to meet the medium sewage flows at the Steven’s Pass Ski Resort. A major part of the retrofit supply package were two Vaughan submersible chopper pumps for wastewater. The electrical controls were the next significant portion of the retrofit. The PLC controller included a touchscreen HMI with autodialer telemetry and SCADA options to communicate with the resort treatment plant. This communication provides advance notification for the treatment plant as the lift station is nearly inaccessible during winter months.
