Wastewater Pump Station Project Description
Riverside, California is the county seat of Riverside County with a population of over 300,000 and located an hour east of Los Angeles.
The California Air Resource Board (CARB) needed a wastewater pump station for their new facility being built in Riverside.
The California Air Resource Board is responsible for ensuring that all necessary protocols are in place to protect the public’s health from the harmful effects of air pollution. This includes guiding local entities in their practices and leading the state of California in their response as a whole.
The Mary D. Nichols Campus building is The California Air Resource Board’s new 380,000 square foot facility and is unique in a variety of ways. It’s one of the largest and most advanced vehicle emissions testing and research facilities in the world.
It’s the largest ‘Net-Zero Energy‘ structure in the United States and was designed to achieve “Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design” (LEED) Platinum Certification and meet CalGreen Tier 2 Standards.
The owner of the project is the Department of General Services (DGS) Real Estate Services Division (RESD). RESD is a full-service real estate organization that fulfills California state agencies’ facility and real property needs.
The general contractor for this project was Hensel Phelps. Hensel Phelps is a construction company headquartered in Irvine, California.
Apple Valley Construction was the project driver for Romtec Utilities on this project.
KPFF Los Angeles was the civil engineer who provides structural engineering, civil engineering, and design services.
Cheryl’s Construction Group was the installation contractor on behalf of the Department of General Services. They perform underground construction services.
