Gresham-Barlow School District – Two Wastewater Package Pump Stations
Wastewater Lift Station Project Description
Romtec Utilities completed two wastewater pump stations; the first at SE Lusted Road in Gresham, OR and the second at Sam Barlow High School for the Gresham-Barlow School District.
Sam Barlow High School, which opened in 1968, had been storing and trucking sewage to the City of Gresham treatment plant for nearly 50 years.
But now the pump stations serve the Sam Barlow High School and will lift the sanitary sewer up to the City of Gresham’s public sanitary storm sewer system. The Sam Barlow Station that Romtec Utilities completed will feed to the Lusted Rd. pump station. These stations will communicate directly with each other, interlocking operation and preventing critical failures.
The unique part about this project is that RU provided its SCADA Connect Package to interlock the Sam Barlow PS with the Lusted PS to work hand in hand.
As part of the high school’s recent improvements, the Site Engineer, Cardno worked with Romtec Utilities to design a series of two pump stations with force mains and gravity lines to finally discharge to the city system. The design includes 4,000 linear feet of sanitary line and coordination to avoid the City of Portland’s main “Bull Run” water supply line.
The general contractor on the project was Lease Crutcher Lewis and Konell Construction was the installing contractor on behalf of RU.
This project brought many companies together along with the City of Gresham and Gresham-Barlow School District to solve the various design and engineering challenges to complete the new wastewater pump stations for the improvements to the high school.
If you’re looking for a pump station as part of upgrades to your school district or renovation project, Romtec Utilities can design and supply the station to fit your needs.
