Sun Valley is a neighborhood in the Los Angeles, California area near many famous attractions, and sitting at the base of the Verdugo Mountains, Sun Valley is prone to flash floods.

Sun Valley is close to Universal Studios Hollywood, the Hollywood district, the Getty Art Museum, along with the Verdugo Mountain Park and trail systems which provide a unique view of Los Angeles.

Waste Management is the owner of this project which includes upgrading an existing Waste Management facility with a large stormwater pump station in Sun Valley.

David Evans and Associates was the civil engineer who teamed up with ET Environmental, the general contractor, on this design-build project.

In addition, the owner was excited that Romtec Utilities has worked with the City of Los Angeles in the past as they provided the final review of the plans.

Romtec Utilities has worked with David Evans and Associates on several previous projects which include UPRR West Colton, UPRR Alton & Southern Yard, and Old Highway 99N – Winchester Vaults project.

Sharma General Contractors was the installation contractor on behalf of Waste Management.

The Stormwater pump station has a precast 810 Valve Vault with a precast 10’ ID x 24’ deep wet well. The system uses Triplex 50 horsepower Ebara submersible pumps with a Unitronics V570 controller.
