In order to expand the municipal sewer system, this lift station was configured to pump to an existing gravity line flowing to treatment. A 24-foot-deep by 10-foot-diameter wet well collects the sewage flows. The wastewater is pumped at 120 gpm 10,000 lineal feet of 10” force main against 206’ TDH with 23 hp high head submersible solids handling pumps. A sheltered control panel utilizes an intrinsically safe barrier for in-well electrical, such as the pressure transducer and conductive probe for primary and backup level controls.

Solyndra Commercial Complex

jweddell300gpm - 500gpm, Pacific, Stormwater, Stormwater Runoff

This new commercial complex required two new stormwater pump stations designed to meet low flows of runoff. The manholes and hatches were designed at grade to integrate seamlessly with the brick patio and walkway. Submersible centrifugal pumps in a duplex configuration discharge to below grade valve assemblies accessible by valves cans. The UL listed control panels are contained by stainless steel NEMA enclosures and include intrinsically safe barriers. Both lift stations were designed with the same primary components for site standardization.

Los Angeles Trade and Technical College

The expansion of a college campus required this stormwater pump station to handle medium flows of stormwater runoff. To meet the required pumping rate, 7.5 hp Ebara submersible centrifugal pumps were designed in a duplex configuration. This pumping system was designed with dual force mains and check valves integrated in the discharge piping to simplify the engineering for the system. Romtec Utilities provided the complete electrical engineering plans for the UL listed control panel. Floats for primary and backup liquid level-sensing were supplied to give the system added redundancy.

The Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton needed this large wet-dry wastewater lift station to replace an existing system to allow the construction of new enlisted quarters. The new lift station included triplex dry-pit pumps to handle super-high flows of sewage from the facilities. An 8’ diameter precast concrete sump collects the sewage. Suction lines connect the sump to a 200-square-foot rectangular dry pit where the pumps, flow meter, and valve assembly are located. This lift station also includes an upstream grinder pit with a Macho Monster sewage grinder to pulverize solids into passable sizes.

Fresh & Easy Distribution Center

Fresh & Easy Distribution Center|Riverside, CA|170 GPM - 60' TDH

jweddell100gpm - 300gpm, Food & Beverage, Pacific, Wastewater

The expansion of this distribution center for Fresh and Easy food products required a package lift station designed to meet medium wastewater flow requirements. This lift station for the 88-acre storage and supply facility uses an inlet line drop bowl to protect submersible solids-handling pumps in a duplex configuration from cascading influent and turbidity. A below-grade valve vault holds all the valves assembly for two, parallel force mains. An outdoor UL listed control panel utilizes float controls for liquid level-sensing and includes an autodialer for communications.
