The City of Arcata | Arcata, CA | 2,947 GPM - 34.2' TDH

jweddell1,000gpm - 5,000gpm, Municipal Collection, Municipal Lift Station Replacement, Pacific, Wastewater

This “turnkey” replacement lift station was designed, supplied, and installed to meet super-high sewage flow with infiltration and inflow requirements of a municipal wastewater lift station. Submersible solids-handling pumps in a triplex configuration were installed. The below-grade valve assembly includes plug valves, check valves, ball valves, a pumping port, and a pigging port. The UL listed control panel has an ultrasonic transducer for primary liquid level sensing, redundant float controls, and an autodialer alarm. VFDs were also included in the lift station controls.

jweddell1,000gpm - 5,000gpm, Municipal Collection, Pacific, Sewer System Expansion, Wastewater

This unique package wastewater lift station was designed to meet the high sewage flows of this US Army Corps of Engineers managed reservoir and nearby campgrounds. Vertical chopper pumps were engineered above the sump in a precast concrete structure with the above grade valve assembly. Two inlet lines were engineered with extra piping to direct influent toward the bottom of the sump. The structure also contains the UL listed control panel. Float controls were used for liquid level-sensing, and the control panel included soft starters typical for vertical shaft pumps.

Fresh & Easy Distribution Center

Fresh & Easy Distribution Center|Riverside, CA|170 GPM - 60' TDH

jweddell100gpm - 300gpm, Food & Beverage, Pacific, Wastewater

The expansion of this distribution center for Fresh and Easy food products required a package lift station designed to meet medium wastewater flow requirements. This lift station for the 88-acre storage and supply facility uses an inlet line drop bowl to protect submersible solids-handling pumps in a duplex configuration from cascading influent and turbidity. A below-grade valve vault holds all the valves assembly for two, parallel force mains. An outdoor UL listed control panel utilizes float controls for liquid level-sensing and includes an autodialer for communications.

jweddell500gpm - 1,000gpm, Collection Systems, Design and Engineering, Grinder Vault, Pacific, Replacements & Retrofits, Slurry/Gritty Water, Wastewater

This high flow wet/dry lift station replacement was installed “in the sand” of Main Beach with three dry pit pumps in a 26-feet-deep precast rectangular vault. Triplex split case pumps, sump pumps, an intake/exhaust fan, lights, valves, stairs, and a mezzanine were all provided in the package. The Allen Bradley PLC control panel, flow transmitter, and junction box are located in a control building. Sophisticated SCADA, 3 levels of redundancy, auxiliary power, and an HDPE wet well are all primary components of this package lift station.

County of Santa Barbara Seal

Santa Barbara County|Goleta, CA|50 GPM - 28' TDH

jweddell50gpm - 100gpm, Municipal Collection, Municipal Lift Station Replacement, Pacific, Replacements & Retrofits, Wastewater

Santa Barbara County needed this package lift station to replace an existing system serving a residential area next to Goleta Beach. Ebara submersible sewage pumps were engineered in a duplex configuration to alternate starts and create redundancy in the system. Liquid level-sensing also includes redundancy by using Dwyer floats as the primary control device and a Multitrode probe for high-level backup. A UL listed control panel uses a NEMA 4X stainless steel enclosure to be safely located outside of the existing control building.
