An IMTT industrial storage facility needed this stormwater pump station to collect runoff and pump it to treatment onsite. The duplex submersible pumps were engineered to handle the expected medium flows of stormwater. The pumps also needed to handle water that could potentially carry oil or other industrial chemicals stored on the site. An above-grade valve assembly used ball valves and check valves that were vertically integrated for easy access. The pump station electrical controls were located on an existing wall in the water treatment area.
City of Santa Barbara | Santa Barbara, CA | 275 GPM - 17' TDH
The City of Santa Barbara needed this packaged pump station to manage low stormwater flows from events that occur during the dry season. Duplex submersible pumps capable of passing a 3-inch solid pump the water into an existing sanitary sewer pressure main and on to treatment. This pump station includes an in-ground valve vault with plug and check valves and stainless steel discharge piping to handle oily or contaminated water conditions. Romtec Utilities supplied the complete electrical controls with liquid level sensing, alarm notifications, pump start and stop cycles, above-grade disconnect stand, and intrinsically safe circuits.
City of Brawley Water Treatment | Brawley, CA | 1,350 GPM - 25' TDH
The City of Brawley needed this packaged lift station to handle high flows of wastewater at its municipal treatment plant. 12 HP submersible pumps in a duplex configuration were used to meet the high flow pumping needs and a conductive probe was used for liquid level-sensing. The in-ground valve assembly and meter assembly were each located in separate vault structures for a cost effective design and easy access. An outdoor, UL listed control panel was protected from weather and sunlight by a six-post shelter, which also covers the sump entry hatch and electric disconnect panel.
Los Angeles Trade and Tech College|Los Angeles, CA|600 GPM - 26.2' TDH
The expansion of a college campus required this stormwater pump station to handle medium flows of stormwater runoff. To meet the required pumping rate, 7.5 hp Ebara submersible centrifugal pumps were designed in a duplex configuration. This pumping system was designed with dual force mains and check valves integrated in the discharge piping to simplify the engineering for the system. Romtec Utilities provided the complete electrical engineering plans for the UL listed control panel. Floats for primary and backup liquid level-sensing were supplied to give the system added redundancy.
US Marine Corps Base|Camp Pendleton, CA|1,585 GPM - 25' TDH
The Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton needed this large wet-dry wastewater lift station to replace an existing system to allow the construction of new enlisted quarters. The new lift station included triplex dry-pit pumps to handle super-high flows of sewage from the facilities. An 8’ diameter precast concrete sump collects the sewage. Suction lines connect the sump to a 200-square-foot rectangular dry pit where the pumps, flow meter, and valve assembly are located. This lift station also includes an upstream grinder pit with a Macho Monster sewage grinder to pulverize solids into passable sizes.
